How do I find books?

Use the Library Catalogue to search for books held by the Library.

If you know which book you want, you can search the Library Catalogue using any of the following searches:

• author search
• title search
• call number search
• ISBN search

To find books on a particular topic, you can search the Library Catalogue using any of the following searches:

• keyword search
• phrase search
• subject heading search

The Catalogue will help you locate a particular book by giving you:

• a detailed description of the book in the Complete Record
• the Campus Library and shelf location on Copy Information Screen
• the borrowing status of the book on the Copy Information Screen

Using the search limits facility within the Catalogue will help you search more effectively.

If the book you want isn't immediately available, you can request it using online Library forms.

If you have exhausted all avenues of obtaining a particular book, there are guidelines for finding other relevant books that might be of interest.
