Finding Maps
Maps are available in electronic and print format.
Electronic maps
The library's Maps, Atlases and Geography page lists some websites which provide access to maps online.
The Geoscience Australia website provides access to maps, images, data and publications.
The Raster Maps program provides access to a 1:250 000 scale series of topographic maps of Australia. Raster Maps is only accessible from library workstations at the CQ campuses. A Raster Maps Guide is available to help you use this resource.
Print maps
Print maps and atlases are held at each of the CQ campuses.
How to search for print maps:
- Go to the Library Catalogue
- Click on 'Keyword Search'
- Enter 'map' into the first box
- Enter the geographic area - suburb/town/area/state/country- into the first box
Note: If no results are returned, try a larger geographic area.
For example, a search for 'frenchville' won't return any results, but a search for 'rockhampton'
will return multiple results.
How to search for atlases:
- Go to the Library Catalogue
- Click on 'Keyword Search'
- Enter 'atlas' into the first box
- Enter the geographic area - i.e. queensland, australia, world - into the second box
