Software and Plug-ins

Software is defined as the "programs and other operating information used by a computer" (OUP, 2004). A plug-in is defined as "a module or piece of software which can be added to an existing system to give extra features" (OUP, 2004).

This collection contains links to web sites providing information and free downloads about software and plug-ins required to effectively utilise computer resources.

Free software that enables the display of Web content created by Macromedia Director, eg. online demonstrations, 3D games.

RealPlayer

Enables your computer to access radio and television broadcasts.

Macromedia Flash Player

Enables your computer to display interactive animation.

QuickTime

Free software player by Apple for media authoring and play back of high-quality audio and video.

Windows Media Player

Free software enabling music and video playback.
