Consultancies and Services

The Division looks upon consultancies and support services as opportunities for staff to demonstrate their skills as well as to develop additional skills and expertise.

Bruce Hart continued to provide technical support to Australian Virtua sites, including a visit from CNA in Qatar and Edutech in Dubai. Vicki Roberts, Kate Houston, Jill Muller and Kerrie-Anne Malcolm provided library services to J M Rendel CSIRO Laboratory up until the end of June when the days were cut back to two and was shared by Vicki and Kate.

Margaret Compton, Debbie Kirkbride and Elke met with Bronwyn Fryar, Library, Fitzroy Basin Association in April to look at the operational aspects of using our library system to manage their collection. Areas identified included circulation, web search interface, reciprocal borrowing / ILL, cataloguing, Kintetica, etc. Eventually the Fitzroy Basin Association decided to go it alone with an in-house library system, but thanked us for our proposal.

During 2005 we had a number of visits from our vendors including:
