Article-level Linking

Linking to articles in ProQuest

  1. Go to ProQuest

  2. Locate the full-text article you want to link to.

  3. When you find the article, click on the article title.  This will take you to the "document view", which includes the full citation information and abstract for the article (and the HTML full-text if available).  If you are not taken to the document view (but to a pdf for example) try clicking on the abstract link instead.

  4. Immediately before the abstract you will see the document URL, e.g.:

    http://proquest.umi.com/pqdweb?did=128974621&sid=1&Fmt=4&clientId=20863&RQT=309&VName=PQD

  5. Copy and paste the url into the following text box

  6.
  7. Your final URL will be:

  8. Links will go to the HTML version of the article.  If you would like users to access the PDF version (assuming one is available) they can do so once they have accessed the HTML version.  You might like to make a note on your course web page indicating where the link to the full-text is located.

  9. To ensure copyright compliance all linked articles must open in a new browser window - instructions.

If you are having difficulty creating working links, check out these tips.
