Depositing Electronic Theses

Please ensure you have read and are familiar with the Requirements for the Preparation, Submission and Deposit of Research Theses before attempting to electronically lodge your thesis. Ensure that the Research Services office has agreed that you are now ready to electronically deposit your thesis.

Procedures

Once you have received formal advice of eligibility to graduate, you may proceed as follows:

Stage one

1. Before completing the deposit form you need to convert your thesis into PDF format. Follow the ADT guidelines for PDF conversion. Please do not set document security as this will be done by the library. Further information regarding security settings for the PDF files is available.
   
   
2. The ADT has filename standards that must be followed.

If you have any questions regarding the conversion of your electronic document, or do not have access to the software required to convert your thesis to PDF format,  please contact Research Liaison Librarian, Libbie Blanchard or Kate Houston email: research-librarian@cqu.edu.au; or contact the library on 1300 369 038.

Stage two

Once your thesis is in the format required you can deposit electronically.

1. Go to Deposit a CQU electronic thesis (opens a new window).

2. Enter all required information into the form.
   Note: there are several help screens available for assistance in filling out the form.

3. You may wish to copy and paste relevant information into the form from your word document.

4. Click on Preview.

5. At this point you are able to check the information you have entered and are able to use the "Back" button on your web browser to correct any mistakes. Once you have checked the information click on "Continue Thesis Deposit".

6. The next step is to attach your files of your thesis for deposit. Follow the instructions on the page. Click on "Continue Thesis Deposit".

7. When you continue, you will be asked to fill out ADT's exit survey. We appreciate your time in completing the survey. This information is valuable to the program and helps us to make the process better. Your deposit will be complete when you have done this.
