The default database searched on Libraries Australia is the
Australian Library Collections (National Bibliographic Database) which contains the catalogue entries for most Australian Libraries. You can search across all the theses holdings of Australian Universities in the one search.
1. Click on Advanced Search.
2. Enter the subject (or combination of keywords) of the theses you wish to find. Remember you will be searching the title, author, and subject fields of the library record. The search will NOT search the abstract or full-text of the thesis.
2. From the drop down arrow select Any Keyword.3. Check the tick box beside "Theses" in the list of types of publications below the search boxes.
4. Click on Search.
The short view that first appears only has the citation and number of holding libraries.
To view the complete record, including the author, type of thesis, subject terms, and holding library, click on the title link.
To find which library holds the thesis, go to Libraries that have this item (at the bottom of the record). For availability of the item you need to search the individual library's web catalogue.
Obtaining theses on document delivery is sometimes very difficult. If the thesis is one you cannot access in any other way (eg. visiting the library and accessing the thesis on site), a document delivery request using Researchdoc funds may be placed, on the understanding it may not be able to be filled.
If you require any assistance with your search, please contact the Liaison Librarian - Research.
