"Could you please describe how you manage the information that you find.

Because of the volume of information that crosses my desk on very diverse topics, storing the paper copies is just a nightmare. I don't have time to file all the paper copies of articles, so I have a 'current' pile of articles which I've read. Then, when I read useful articles, book chapters, or find some web sites with interesting information, I use Endnote to organise the material for future reference. I try to avoid storing the paper copies as this takes time to number and file, and invariably gets left - I just never get around to doing it. So, when I'm writing a paper or preparing a presentation, Endnote is just so useful and I find myself putting articles straight into the Endnote file as I'm going. I can add notes and URLs, and I find the URLS particularly useful because then I can throw away the paper copy. I try not to store paper copy unless I have to, and of course the interface with Word is just marvellous. The other advantage of Endnote is that it compiles the bibliography as I go. Version 5 has some very useful additions in the program."
